STAMPCOW WEEK day 1

 Hello Monday and hello friends.
Today I'm super excited to bring you day one of Stampcow week on my blog.

Stampcow is a stamp company that makes awesome rubber stamps mounted on wood.  Stop by their shop here to see all their goods.  They have stamp for everyone from the super cute to the retro fab.
I'm happy and lucky to have the chance to share Stampcow love on my blog this week.  I'll be posting three projects and there's also a chance for two of you to win a gift certificate to the shop.  How awesome is that?  Alright so onto today.

Since all us teachers, students and parents are in the "Back to School" mood I decided to create something my kids could use for school.
I mean what kind of paper crafting mama would I be if I didn't customize something for them to take back to school.  Made this cute matching composition book, pencil case and bag tag for one of them.
All the cuteness came from this adorable little robot stamp (Shop for him HERE).
Here's a closer look at them all.

May Arts/Stampendous/Core'dinations Blog hop and giveaway

It's already Thursday and the massive three way blog hop is already going strong.
Talk about amazing talent from these three awesome companies...

So what does a ribbon, cardstock, and stamp company have in common?
Well this one cool tag, that's what.
Used a Core'dinations tag and sanded a green dot cardstock for the base.
The sentiment was heat embossed with Stampendous Detailed White embossing powder on May Arts Faux Canvas ribbon.
I LOVE stampendous embossing powders...They are the only ones I use.

May Arts products used:
Burlap String                    Frayed Flower Wired                   Faux Canvas

Light it up blue hop

 Hello everyone!
Today is a very special day for the color blue.  We at May Arts are on the hop with all blue ribbony projects for a special cause.

A little explanation...
April 2nd is "Autism Awareness Day" and people allover the world "Light it up blue" in support.  So some very lovely gals at May Arts are joining in.  Join us at the start of the hop HERE on the May Arts ribbon blog.  If you are already on your way you should have joined me from Jenifer Cowles blog.

Here's my little project...A blue ribbon hair clip on a tag.
Autism and me
My daughter had a "developmental delay" when she was young.  By age three she hardly talked at all.  It was not because she was shy and non sociable.  In fact she is the extreme opposite.  She was quite smart in every other way.  So we took her to a program for help, and it did.  As of right now she is one of the smartest child in her grade at her school and has been since four.  Her focus this year has improved dramatically and she still is extremely social.  There was early signs of Autism but we were lucky that either she out grew it or it was just a matter of  her unique personality.  Either way a lot of her early friends were officially diagnosed with having it.  Our family will never forget the friends and teachers she had in her early years.  Such loving and happy children.  So the "SMILE" on the tag is totally intentional.
Here's my beautiful little girl with the bow in her hair...
Here's how I clipped the bow to the tag.
I hope you all enjoyed story time today.  It was a real personal one for me.  Please don't judge others and be open to all happy people especially children.  I know your life will feel warmer...Mines does!

Okay now onto the hop.  You know the ribbon lady can't have a hop without a give-a-way, so here it is.  So blue and so awesome.  Wanna win?  Just join the hop and comment on each blog along the way.  One name will be picked to win these four blue beauties.

Day 2 of Valentine Projects

 Happy Monday!
My kiddos are off to school today with the weekend over.
so I thought it was the perfect time to share what Valentines goodies they will be passing out to their classmates this year.

Today I'm bringing you what my daughter will give to her friends.
 LOVE these lip kazoos/whistles thingies.
Picked them up at target and they were only $1.50 for four...score!
Making the tag was easy peasy too.
Check it out.

1. Print the tag
Print saying on the computer.  I use Microsoft word and played with different sayings and fonts.
Use the columns and copy & paste to make making a bunch easier (I used three columns a sheet).  What ever you do, make sure you leave enough room for the lips to fit.
Play around with it, It's all up to you!
Then use your paper trimmer to cut straight lines to form your tag

2. Decorate and punch holes
To add a little sass I stamps hearts from the Hero Arts "Year Round Sentiments" set and added a flag strip to the top.  You are then going to punch two holes parallel to each other on the tag.  Using a pair of scissors, cut between the two holes.  This will be where you insert the whistle. (left picture below)

3. Put it in and pass it out
Now just insert the back of the whistle into the slot you made.  See image on the right?  That is the back of the tag.  If your whistle is not snug in it's tag then you could add a little washi to hold it there.

That's it for me today but be sure to join me tomorrow when I share what my son is taking for his friends.  Now get the hopping to my crafty friends sites and check out what they have for you today.
