This months theme is all fun and games.
Yup it's a Tic Tac Toe challenge and the sponsor is Inspiration Emporium with a $25.00 gift card to one lucky player.
Can you guess how I did mines?
No?
Well it's because I did them all HA!
Hope you have time this holiday season to play along.  This is such a fun challenge and a super prize.  Plus we love seeing all your creations.

MMMC #4

It's a brand new month and that means a brand new Mixed Media Monthly Challenge!
This month's theme is a beautiful inspiration photo challenge.  Check out all the texture and wonderfully bright colors in this picture.
On top of that we have an awesome $25 prize from Ellen Hutson.
Now that's even more of an incentive to get inspired and link up.
I was inspired by the painted teal background and all the lovely colors in the photo.  I also got the idea of the yellow burst from the flowers.  Even the background paper was from the pattens in the flowers.  So much to take from I can't wait to see what you all create.
Check out the other awesomeness from my girls of on the
and don't forget to link up!  You got one whole month to do so.

MMMC #3

It's the first of the month and time for another Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.
I had fun with this one and I think you will too!
Here's a layout of my littlest man at the park.  I wanted to keep with the black and white theme like in the picture but thought it would be fun to add pops of fun colors.
Plus had some messy fun wit this months Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.
Yes!  Challenge #3 is to get all messy and bust out the paste.  We also got a super cool prize up for grabs.  Eclectic Paperie is offering a $25.00 gift card to one lucky player.

I used two different stencils and pastes on this layout.
I thought it would be cool to add a tone on tone look so I went with it.  The hot air balloons where made with a glossy black embossing paste.  Both products by Dreamweaver Stencils.
Next I created an ombre look to add that pop of color.  To do this just add gelatos to your paste to add color and spread over the stencil.  The super cool stencil used here is from DCWV.
Last is to let it all dry and add on all the cool embellishments.

You all know you love stencils and paste so go grab some, make something cool and link up to this months Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

"You just shine"

A sweet layout for my sweet daughter.
I'm one of those people that can not instantly fall asleep at night.  Thoughts fill my head and I have to wrap myself in them or I'll never get to bed.  A couple of nights ago I started thinking of my daughter in my night time "solo mind convo" (I'm getting all Star Trek-y with naming this time).  I started forming a letter about all the things that make her special to me.  When I woke up I started working on this layout for her and it shines...just like her.
I knew this layout had to be special so I drew and watercolored these flower bunches.  Love the way they turned out (Be on the look out for the tutorial coming soon).
Inspiration for this page came from the awesome Stephanie of Stephanie makes .  She Challenged her readers to create a vertical band on their layout and so I did.  Thought it was the perfect place to focus the photo, embellishments and letter.
The hand painted watercolored flowers and the bold black lines was inspired by this weeks "Runway Inspired Challenge #63"  and this cool dress by Just Cavalli Resort 2015.  I also like all the white space and the cluster of colors in one area.
This page is so meaningful to me.  It's a reminder of why my baby girl is so special and how I should always praise and love her even through the rough times.

MMMC #2

Hello July and hello to another Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.
This month's challenge is super fun and anyone can participate in this one.
The challenge is "Around the house".
Use things around your house on your Mixed Media project this month.
Here are some of the things I used on my page from around my house.
Cardboard box, a small cup, a pencil and a pizza cutter.
The black that mats the photo was from the box.  I ripped the one side off and heavily applied black ink and used it like a stamp.  The painted mint circles was made with a cup and both ends of a pencil.  This was easy...just dip in paint and add to paper.  The last step was may favorite "The pizza cutter"!  You can find it on my page in teal paint.  I run the cutter through the paint and then on my paper.
 Such a fun challenge right!
What makes this challenge extra SWEET is the awesome DCWV prize pack up for grabs.  Not one of them but TWO!
I hope you join us this months and don't forget to stop by the blog to see the other awesome DT work.

#bestdayever

 Hi all!
It's summertime (whoop!) and here is the start to my summertime posts,
To start it all off I decided to scrap a photo of last summer that captures the mood of last summer.
Summer 2013 consisted of lots of sunset surf sessions with my kids.  The sunsets where AMAZING!  You can see my two middles in the picture catching a wave and the ocean aglow with the colors of the sunset.
I wanted to play along with the amazing Wilna Furstenberg's "Painted acrylic flowers" challenge.  She is truly an amazing and inspiring artiest.
Well I say wanted because I started this layout and then had to catch a plane with my little tribe to Kauai (lots of pictures and scrapbook pages coming to the blog).  Yup I left it half done on my desk for three days and then came back to finish it.  I knew I missed that challenge but the inspiration was all I need to get me motivated!
Hope you have a great summer and make lots of memories!

NSD 2014 "Adorable"

 Hello beautiful people!
It's been a busy couple of weeks and it's not over yet.  Gearing up to spend summer with my four kids and trying to get everything in place before the end of the school year at work,  makes for little time to relax!  But soon hopefully I'll have the most relaxing and fun summer with my family.

Alright enough about me and on to this lovely layout.  This is an old picture that I just totally adore of my daughter deep in thought by a stream.
Created this layout from a NSD trend challenge to use gold.  So that I did!  I used almost my whole pack of Maggie Holmes rub-ons around the center piece.  LOVE those rub-ons.  The pattern paper and chipboard are also from Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.  So pretty and perfect for my little girl!

 Have a great weekend!

NSD 2014 "the little things"

 Hello and happy weekend!
While I'm in full card making mode with GI 2014 and all the thank yous I need to send for the end of the school year, I still want to share a NSD layout.

This simple layout was made for a challenge on a facebook group I'm apart of.
They had a lovely inspiration photo and this is what came out.
The photo cards are from We R Memory keepers.  The gold tissue paper (that I totally LOVE) is from Cosmo Cricket.  And that awesome clear sticker from Simple stories.  All make the bulk of this layout about one this I'll never get tired of...Hanging with my family at sunset!

May Arts & Avery Elle & Um Wow Studios...Oh my!

Three awesome companies, three great prizes and one week for an amazing hop!
Today is the second day of a week full of inspiration from May Arts Ribbon, Avery Elle and Um Wow Studios.  Along with a week full of inspiration from the three companies there is also a give away.  You could win one of three prizes consisting of 1 Stamp Set, 1 roll of ribbon,,1 mask, flair set & layered chipboard set

On to my layout for today.
I started with the background that was heat embossed with Avery Elle's "Ikat" and then colored with gelatos.  Then I focused on that little grouping to the right.  A variety of May Arts Ribbon die cut with an Avery Elle tag die and embellished with Um Wow Studio's chipboard.
Don't forget to check out the other Ribbonistas sharing today Latrice Murphy and Rhea Weigand.
Also head to the May Arts Ribbon blog for all the details and so you don't miss any awesomeness.

NSD 2014 "Don't Forget Live"

I had a very productive National Scrapbooking Day 2014.
So many hops, challenges and inspiration for this paper loving community and I tried to soak it all in and create as much as I could.  In total I got five pages done that day which is a big whoop for me since my average is like one layout every two months.
I want to start sharing them all so be prepared.

This first one was inspired by the amazing Celine Navarro and a super cool moodboard Challenge she had over on the Two Peas in a Bucket site.
Here's my layout with a little reminder for myself.
I drew mostly from the colors and patterns in the moodboard to create this layout.

The base is colored with gelatos and then stenciled over with black embossing paste.  Then I laid a piece of dot velum over the top.  I LOVED the looked and didn't want to cover it all up with stuff so I just added a simple layered focal point.
Two perfect messages as a reminder to myself.  Life is kinda of going in a different flow right now and this is a nice reminder to myself not to get caught up in all of that "stuff" and just live!
 More to come!
If you made a layout for NSD 2014 I would love to see.  Leave me a link in the comments.
Have a great weekend!

OH KATE!

Hello weekend scrappers!
Today I'm sharing a random layout about the everyday using the everyday.
"OH KATE!"
Yes it's a page about my Kate Spade bag.  I'm switching it up from my usual family layout to scrap something that is totally and just for me.  Since I was documenting this "event" I thought... What better way to preserve all the cool tags and wrappings that came with the bag then to scrapbook them onto the page.  Here are the things I incorporated.
Super cool tissue paper, the sticker that held the tissue paper and the price tag.
To add the tissue paper I mod podged (is that a word? It should be.) a whole 12x12 paper and added the tissue to the top.  To make sure the corners didn't come off I just brushed a little mod podge to the top.  There's really no need to paint the whole top.

These goodies could easily be paired with any scrapbook line but I thought the earthy fabulous richness of Maggie Holmes' Styleboard was the perfect fit.
I totally indulged myself and enjoyed every minute of it!

Have a great weekend.
