Stampcow GIVEAWAY and a Tutorial

Who wants quick and easy custom fabric?
Yup then this post is for you.  Today I'm bringing you an easy tutorial all about using your favorite stamps to make custom fabric pieces.

 Here's what you need
A stamp
Colored acrylic paint of your choice
Textile Medium
Small bowl
Sponge brush
Pre-washed fabric (Do not use fabric softener)

 1. Mix it
You will first want to iron out your fabric just so you have a nice even serf ace to stamp on.
Then in a small bowl, mix together 1 part textile medium to 2 parts acrylic paint.

 2. Apply it
Using a sponge brush apply a generous amount of paint to the raised image of your stamp.
Don't apply too much paint as it will spread when you push it down on the fabric.

3. Stamp it and set it
Now just simply stamp the image on to fabric.  You will need to reapply more ink after every stamp.  The paint drys fairly quickly so while you don't have to work fast, you should take along time deciding where to stamp.  Try planing out you vision before starting the whole process.
After you have stamped the entire surface, let paint dry then heat set.  To heat set, cover the painted side with a scrap piece of fabric, flip over and then iron the back.

4. Use it
Now that your fabric is stamped and heat set you can use it how ever you want.
I decided to turn mines into a little bag to hold all my goodies.
This bag features a Stampcow stamp in "Flying bird" and May Arts Ribbon in 5/8 inch teal twill & 1 1/2 inch black and white grosgrain stripes
