DIY: Up-cycle tie-dye crayons

Yesterday I posted the little goodies my kids will be passing out for the holidays and promised a tutorial.  So here it is.  How to make these uber cute and totally functional tie-dye crayons.
Aren't they so cool all lumped in a pile like that!
And now

So I saw this on pinterest and had to give it a try.
Here's what you will need
Crayons (new, old and or used)
Cooking spray
Shaped baking sheet (I seen people use mini cupcake tins but I used a sugar cookie sheet)

Step 1
Unwrap & Cut up
unwrap the crayons and cut them into tiny pieces
Tip: Be very careful and make a slit in the wrappers with a knife to easily remove them.
(something I discovered very late in this process).

Step 2
Bake It
Spray your cookie tin with spray oil (like pam) and add crayons.
I grouped my colors together just so it would match the shape it's given.
Now bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 min. to melt the crayons

Step 3
Let it Sit
Be very careful when pulling out tin.  It will be hot and you don't want the colors mixing to much.
Let it sit out on the counter for about 3 min. or until the wax stops moving.
Then move them into the freezer for 3 min. to harden up (This is optional...I'm just impatient)
Once completely harden pop them out of the tins and this is what you have
I so love each one and they really work!
The good news about this project is you get to use up all your old crayons.
You know the ones that you had for 8 years...I kid you not...I had those.
The bad news is that taking off all those wrappers were a pain in my fingers.

If you missed it, here's how I sent them off
In a little mini coloring book (see the post HERE)
Yes I had to add a warning because my son said that his friend would eat them.
Then his dad came home and almost ate one!
