"Shave Ice" summer book

Summer in Hawaii, what can I say. I think if you ask my kids one thing that they like about summer they will all have a different answer. But nothing sums up summer in Hawaii quite like “Shave Ice” and that’s one think they will all agree on. You can get your Shave Ice here any which way because besides the 50 different flavors, there are a number of toppings. Mochi balls, Sweeten condense milk, Ice cream, Li Hung powder, SO yummy yummy yummy!

Zutter: Bind-it-all, 1” white Owires
Cricut: Stretch your Imagination, Alphalicious
Bazzill Bling: white paper
Journaling Stamp: Autumn Leafs
Ink: StazOn jet black
Copics: R29 YR07 Y15 YG23 B02

I did this mini album for the Bind-it-all blog. There’s so much inspiration there and an awesome design team so head on over there and check them out. The challenge was to make an 8x8 album or smaller of something about your summer.
I don’t have a shave ice cut on my cricut so I just altered the ice cream out of “stretch your imagination”. The cut was 91/2 and after I cut off the cherry it came out to be exactly 8” from the tippy-top to the point on the bottom.
In between each shave ice pages I put a page of pictures. One of my happy kiddies and then one of them downing their cold treat. I wanted this to be an album that they could look at and remember how happy a simple icy treat made them feel. So I asked them some questions and wrote their answers on the back of the cone.

Ea's flavor: Strawberry with mochi balls

Po's flavor: Banana, Vanilla, & cotton candy
