"pull & flip" card instructions

I found these cards at my local discount store and thought “I wonder if I could do this on my own?” I brought them home and totally demolished them because that’s how you figure things out :) So here’s the run down on how to make your own. But if you would rather buy it they are made by PLAID and come in an awesome kit with stickers and an envelope. Check them out here PLAID Paper Motions

What you need
2 pieces 12x12 sturdy cardstock
Craft knife
Cutting mat
Creaser
Strong tape or glue

I posted the Pictures first then the instructions

Please use and alter these instructions how ever you want but I would appreciate it if you would direct others to my post and share the info for free
THANKS :)

Make the base
Cut 5” off a 12x12 piece of paper
Fold in half long ways
Crease ½” on the top and bottom
Cut the top & bottom 1/2” on half of the card

Now to make the inside frame
Do this on the side without the 1/2” tabs
Measure 5/8 in from the edges and the crease
Its ok to mark it with a pencil because this will be the inside.
Cut out the frame. I used a craft knife and fallowed the marked lines

The inside pages
Your going to cut 3 rectangles
6 ½ x 3 ¾
5 ½ x 2 3/4
5 ¼ x 3 ¾

This is the 6 ½ x 3 ¾ rectangle
Measure and crease 3” from edge long ways
Measure ½” on top and bottom on the 3” side
Cut the ½” as slits to the edge DO NOT cut them off

This is the 6 ½ x 3 ¾
Glue down big half and top and bottom tabs to base
DO NOT glue the inside flap
You’ll see there is a little over hang from the tabs, just cut them off the match the base.

This is the 5 ½ x 2 ¾
Fold this in half
Glue one half to the flap of the rectangle you just glued to the base
This piece is smaller so make sure you match the tops
The bottoms will have a ¼ gap in (see pic 2 above)

This is the 5 ¼ x 3 ¾
Crease at 2 5/8 then measure ½ on the top and bottom of that side
Cut the ½ tabs off

The 5 ¼ x 3 ¾
Glue the 2 5/8 side to the other half of piece you just glued together.
DO NOT glue the big side down
Like the piece before you should have a gap on the back. Like a step (pic 2)

Snip off the corners of the tabs. Now place the big piece down and fold over the top and bottom tabs on the base

Fold down the frame part making sure the “book pages” are sticking out of the frame. Glue frame by putting glue on the bottom tabs.
Let your card dry and there you go. Decorate and enjoy

I tried to make these clear and simple instructions. But it’s a lot of info so if there are any questions post it in the comments and I’ll get an answer to you :)
Have fun with this one
