Light it up blue hop

 Hello everyone!
Today is a very special day for the color blue.  We at May Arts are on the hop with all blue ribbony projects for a special cause.

A little explanation...
April 2nd is "Autism Awareness Day" and people allover the world "Light it up blue" in support.  So some very lovely gals at May Arts are joining in.  Join us at the start of the hop HERE on the May Arts ribbon blog.  If you are already on your way you should have joined me from Jenifer Cowles blog.

Here's my little project...A blue ribbon hair clip on a tag.
Autism and me
My daughter had a "developmental delay" when she was young.  By age three she hardly talked at all.  It was not because she was shy and non sociable.  In fact she is the extreme opposite.  She was quite smart in every other way.  So we took her to a program for help, and it did.  As of right now she is one of the smartest child in her grade at her school and has been since four.  Her focus this year has improved dramatically and she still is extremely social.  There was early signs of Autism but we were lucky that either she out grew it or it was just a matter of  her unique personality.  Either way a lot of her early friends were officially diagnosed with having it.  Our family will never forget the friends and teachers she had in her early years.  Such loving and happy children.  So the "SMILE" on the tag is totally intentional.
Here's my beautiful little girl with the bow in her hair...
Here's how I clipped the bow to the tag.
I hope you all enjoyed story time today.  It was a real personal one for me.  Please don't judge others and be open to all happy people especially children.  I know your life will feel warmer...Mines does!

Okay now onto the hop.  You know the ribbon lady can't have a hop without a give-a-way, so here it is.  So blue and so awesome.  Wanna win?  Just join the hop and comment on each blog along the way.  One name will be picked to win these four blue beauties.
Get hoppin'...Your next stop is

Love this darling hair clip Lalo! Your sweet daughter is so adorable :) I have a nephew who was finally diagnosed with autism so this day is near and dear to my heart and I loved hearing your story. When I was a child, they told my mother I had cerebral palsy because I was so little, but turns out they were wrong about that too!

Thanks for sharing your lovely bow and your heartfelt story. I have a son on the autism spectrum and I have also learned not to judge others when you have no idea what their struggles are. We are blessed with a very social and verbal child, but I know that many others struggle with speech and friendships. I'm so glad you took part in this hop and wish you the best of everything as you continue to love and guide your daughter.
