karma?

NO craft today just a story

If you haven't heard by now, My ribbon dreams came true.
I get to be a cameo ribbonista for
So AWESOME right!
Even awesomer still when you hear this story...

When I heard that I made it into the second round of DT calls for May Arts I decided to check out a local craft store (one I haven't been to before) for their selection of May Arts.
I walked into, the door made eye contact with one of two worker behind the desk, I smiled and said "Hello"
No response, just a look not even a smile back...they were have their lunch or something...I think, okay not friendly people.
Not more then a min. later another woman walks in and from the same woman that shrugged me off got a really friendly "Hi, can I help you with something?"
WHAT???
I looked around and got out of there...there was things I wanted to get but didn't!

I'm a total supporter of local products and local stores but went online to order my ribbon.
Sad to say this isn't the first time something like this has happened to me.
I always say I get better service when I'm with my husband...for whatever reason.
If it's the way I look, the bag I carry, what I wear, how I talk...I don't know but it made me making it on to the DT way more sweeter.
I'm not going to say what store it was...that's not my style
SO thank-you craft store in HI that was stink to me...I don't need to get May Arts ribbon from you now!

I totally get what you went through, Lalo. My LSS gave me the cold shoulders many times and they even carry the SRM Stickers ( I was on SRM DT last year!). I do way more on-line shopping now. It's too bad taht the LSS are missing out!! HUGE CONGRATS on making the May Arts Ribbonista!! So happy for you!

stinky people with stinky behavior. I am oblivious to such things. I tend to not "see" stuff, maybe that's a good thing. who needs em'

Lalo, I'm so sorry you were treated like that. They obviously don't know a good thing when it walks right through their door. Congrats on being a May Arts Ribbonista!

Your LSS missed the boat, missy! I sometimes think people in the SERVICE industry forget part of their mission... anyway...Congratulations, you'll be crafting your fingers off!

Didn't store realizes that customer service is one of most important thing to do in order to last? It's their lost! And,like you said, now, you can get your ribbons directly from the source!! :)

Oh man, I have a VERY similar story. Except even though I shouldn't have, I kept shopping there when I was in a bind and needed something ASAP. Then one day, the owner walked up to me and says "Are you Ashley Newell?" I said "yes" and she said "oh, Jennifer McGuire mentioned you the other day" and has been nice to me ever since. Insert eye roll.

Wooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! That's AWESOME!! Bummer about the store... I love to support small businesses --- but I don't like it when they whine and complain they have no customers... wellllll if you were nicer, maybe you would!!!

Well done, Lalo. And about the story. I just can't stand bad customer service!! Everybody should be keen to help with a smile on their faces. One happy customer will tell 10 of their friends, but one unhappy one will tell everybody! Their loss! :) xx

:( I hate it when that happens. I'm sorry you were snubbed!! I don't blame you for not wanting to shop there. You should pull a "Pretty Woman" act later in that store. Come in with tons of shopping bag, look around, ask if they work on commission, and say "Too bad, I could've spent lots of money here if it wasn't for your attitude! " Haha!
