Reaching for the stars today or more like paper stars
I used to make these little paper stars all the time
they are super fast and easy and they look great
Here's how
1. Cut a 12x12 paper into 1/4 inch strips
2. Tie a knot in one end
Make sure NOT to flatten the knot.
You want it tight but not flat
3. Fold the short end up
4. Fold the long end of paper over the knot to the end of the strip.
let the paper guide the way it folds over. The edge of the strip should line up with the edge of the knot as you fold it around.
Remember not to flatten as you fold
5. When you come to the end simply tuck the tale end into the flap. You can glue or tape it if you wish but I find it good enough to just tuck it in.
You should now have a paper pentagon
6. Now you are going to take your paper pentagon and use your finger nails to push the sides towards the center. You can also think of it as pinching the corners.
Do all five sides and there you have it...a cute little paper star.
You could simply lay these out on your holiday table to add some shine but I got other things in mind for these little guys...check back in tomorrow to see how I dressed up a tree with these :)
