May Arts Fall/Winter 2014 New Release Week and GIVEAWAY!

Hello ribbon loving people!
This is a good week because all week long the May Arts Ribbon company will be introducing all their brand new fabulous fibers.  All the ribbonistas are showing off all the awesome ways to use the new goodies.  The best part is you could win BIG time!  You could be one of the 3 luck ones to win one spool each from the new release.
Head on over to the May Arts Ribbon blog to see all of the new releases and all the fun inspirations and giveaway details.

Today I get to share one of the most useful and handy, MUST HAVE IN YOUR STASH ribbons.
I know when you think of May Arts Ribbon a number of lovely fibers comes to mind and elastic may not be one of them.  But I'm telling you that these are a must have.  Especially when they come in awesome colors including metallic!  Here's a look at some of the ways I used them.

As a cool headband.
You can add extra texture and interest by crocheting the elastic like I did here.

Make a quick and easy bracelet.
Because of the elastics 1mm size, they easily slip into beads to make bracelets.  All you have to do is slide the beads through and knot the ends.

Two ways to hold your things together.
Here I'm sharing with you two different ways of how you could use the elastic to hold anything from napkins to papers and books together.

This tie would be ideal for all your paper needs.  All you have to do is to knot a button and slip the things you need to hold together in the middle of the elastic.

Here is a tie for all your heavy duty projects.  For this one you knot the elastic in a button just like the first.  But for this you'll take both sides of the elastic around the thing you are holding and loop the end of the elastic around the button.  Making double the elastic power.

I really hope you all get your hands on these awesome elastics.  If you ask me, everyone could use a spool!
Now to see what else cool ribbon is being release.  Stop by the amazing blogs of Latrice Murphy and Rhea Weigand.
