I have a long list of obsessions and instagram is right on up there.

If the first step in paper crafters anonymous is admitting your obsession...
The second is to scrap about it right?
 SO here it is

NO craft today just a story

If you haven't heard by now, My ribbon dreams came true.
I get to be a cameo ribbonista for
So AWESOME right!
Even awesomer still when you hear this story...

When I heard that I made it into the second round of DT calls for May Arts I decided to check out a local craft store (one I haven't been to before) for their selection of May Arts.
I walked into, the door made eye contact with one of two worker behind the desk, I smiled and said "Hello"
No response, just a look not even a smile back...they were have their lunch or something...I think, okay not friendly people.
Not more then a min. later another woman walks in and from the same woman that shrugged me off got a really friendly "Hi, can I help you with something?"
WHAT???
I looked around and got out of there...there was things I wanted to get but didn't!

I'm a total supporter of local products and local stores but went online to order my ribbon.
Sad to say this isn't the first time something like this has happened to me.
I always say I get better service when I'm with my husband...for whatever reason.
If it's the way I look, the bag I carry, what I wear, how I talk...I don't know but it made me making it on to the DT way more sweeter.
I'm not going to say what store it was...that's not my style
SO thank-you craft store in HI that was stink to me...I don't need to get May Arts ribbon from you now!

Pinning & Paper strips

I now have two brand new obsessions
Wanna know why?
I'm so loving how this card turned out.
Got the inspiration from Pinterest (see the pin HERE)
and that fabulous flair from Paper Play Studio just brings it all together.
The paper strips are wood-grain embossed kraft paper painted white then inked and sanded to give that weathered beachy wood feel!

And one more interpreted a little different

So what brought on all this paper strip play?

Avery Elle is Moxie Fab!

 Yes it is.
I got my Avery Elle stamps and I can't stop stamping.
So I'm playing over at the Moxie Fab World with these two cards.

When I first seen the "Bright Days" stamp this is the card I saw
LOVE these elongated triangles.  So I stamp the uber hip sentiment from "Framed fonts", masked it and then used the triangles to make a pattern.  Putting this into the

While I had these two sets sitting on my desk I had to make another card right!
My bloggy friend from "My Creative Endeavors" made some awesome cards for this new challenge site and I was so inspired that I had to join in (thanks for the inspiration Lisa)
and their first challenge is SUN.  How perfect is this challenge and me?  Like at least half my cards have a sun image on them.  So I had to play!
Also because it's all stamped up and Moxie Fab...this one is for the

Text ME

 Happy hump day
It's only Wednesday and I already so can't wait for the weekend.  Yes it's one of those weeks.
But I got in sometime to make this one-layer card and it just makes me happy!
Thought I would use text in two different ways
1. Kissing stamps
2. A clean and simple text sentiment

Okay short and sweet post today.
I found a new obsession: Pinterest
I know I'm late to the pinning party but I was afraid it would become another obsession...I was right!

Jazzing up your ribbon flowers

This is my part two of May Arts round two of their DT call.
Confused!?!
In the previous post I showed you how to make a "simple ribbon flower" and now I want to give you some ideas on how to jazz them up.  Like so...

 Here's some things I used
May Arts ribbon in 3/4" Twill/Stripes
Fabric brads
Ink (colorbox pigment ink)
Glitter glue (smooches glitz)
First Check out the flower tutorial HERE

Jazzing it up the first way
Before you fold and stitch your ribbon,
Ink up the middle
It should totally NOT be perfect, just dab along the strip then continue on to make your flower.

Jazzing it up way two
This is for all you who like the vintage look.
After your flower is all made (using the "ink in the middle" technique above)
cut along the top rib of the whole ribbon.
Then using your fingers, gentle pull at the top where you have cut.
Letting the treads of the ribbon "loose" like so...

Jazzing it up number three
This one is easy and for all you glitter gals.
Just add a some glitter glue to the insides of the folds in your flower.
It really helps to use a glitter glue with a paint brush tip like this "Smooch Glitz"

Jazzing it up the forth way
Before you sew your ribbon add a piece of ribbon with color in the middle.
You want to fold the Faux Linen ribbon around the colored ribbon and then sew.

Jazzing it up the fifth and last
Simple ... Add a brad to the middle :)

In my "simple ribbon flower" tutorial I said how I like to add my ribbon flower to a clip
and here's why
If you add it to a clip you can do so much and here's what I did with mines

Adding it to a headband...

And of course, putting it on a card...
Just tucked it in the back of paper panel.  Take a look.
Okay all, I hop you liked all the Jazzed up versions of a simple ribbon flower.
It would be a dream to play with pretty ribbon and I'm sooo itching to be on the May Arts Design Team.
Wish me luck!
